What is RCIP?

The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) is designed to bring the benefits of immigration to rural communities across Canada, helping employers connect with new talent or retain existing skilled workers to address critical labour shortages in the North Bay  and  area. Through this initiative, North Bay and area employers will have the opportunity to foster long-term residency and workforce stability.

As an employer-focused program, North Bay & Area RCIP will work closely with local businesses to identify labour force gaps, ensuring North Bay and Area RCIP addresses the current needs and challenges within our community. By fostering economic immigration, RCIP reinforces our position as an ideal destination for newcomers to live, work and thrive.

Employers will be designated according to eligibility to fill vacancies that can’t be filled locally. North Bay & Area has partnered with IRCC to develop a program that works best for our community by prioritizing skilled immigrants who intend to make North Bay & Area their home.

Please note that not all occupations qualify for RCIP.  There are other immigration pathways that you can pursue.  Please visit Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada website for more information:
