North Bay & Area RCIP Monthly Statistics: April/May 2026

At this time, the North Bay & Area RCIP program has granted 78 candidates community recommendations in 2026, with many more under review. This represents roughly 31% of our total for the year. 30 applicants were successful in April/May. Before the end of the calendar year, we will utilize our remaining allocations (177) to assist skilled workers and support our employers. We continue to receive hundreds of candidate applications. Additionally, we now officially have over 200 businesses designated.

Of the candidates successful in April/May, the average score was 93 points. The highest score was 106. These numbers highlight the quality of talent in both our candidate pool and communities.

The candidate and sector breakdown for 2026, thus far, is as follows:

  • 9 successful candidates from Business, Finance, and Administration.
  • 1 successful candidate from Natural and Applied Sciences and Related Occupations.
  • 14 successful candidates from Health.
  • 15 successful candidates from Education, Law and Social, Community and Government Services.
  • 13 successful candidates from Sales and Service.
  • 26 successful candidates from Trades, Transportation, and Equipment Operators.

We want to remind all employers and candidates that RCIP is a highly competitive program. Submitting an application does not guarantee success.

Any applicants who have received their recommendations are encouraged to apply for Permanent Residence (PR) as soon as possible, as IRCC has been taking longer to provide AORs (Acknowledgement of Receipts). Candidates who fail to apply within the 6-month window (i.e., the duration a recommendation is valid for) or candidates who fail to apply properly (e.g., missing documents or submitting outdated information to IRCC, etc.) and see their recommendations expire will not be awarded another one from the North Bay & Area RCIP team. As we have a limited number to distribute each year, no single candidate can or will get granted a second.

We will continue to share monthly insights as the program progresses and develops further. Should you have any questions about the pilot, please review our website in detail or speak with your employer. Thank you!
