2025 RCIP Priority Sectors & Occupation Codes Update

Below are the priority sectors and occupation codes (NOC), approved by IRCC, for this year.

Our priority sectors are:

  • Business, Finance and Administration
  • Health
  • Education, law and social, community, and government services
  • Sales and service
  • Trades and transport

At this time, we are excluding all fast food and retail occupations, including convenience store and gas station occupations, from this pilot. At the end of each year, we will reassess our priority occupation codes.

Please note that the RCIP program is employer-driven and we will be communicating directly with those who meet eligibility.

Don’t see your priority sector and/or NOC listed among those accepted for the North Bay & Area RCIP?

We would appreciate your input and want to hear from you! Please email RCIP Coordinator, [email protected] to provide information as we continue to enhance the pilot over the next five years. 

In your email, please provide us with your:

  • NOC (National Occupation Code)
  • Employer/Business Name
  • Location of Employer/Business

Any emails without this information will NOT be looked at or responded to.


For those employers who would like to offer employment to a foreign national in one of our 25 priority occupations:

There is no cost to becoming a designated employer. You can apply for designation in advance of hiring a foreign national or when you find someone you wish to hire. Designation applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

  • Your business/organization’s eligibility for the Pilot;
  • Your prospective job offer; and/or
  • Your candidate’s eligibility (if applicable);
  • Receive the links to the mandatory online training; and
  • Obtain the Employer Designation Application Form and Guidelines.
